Ajax Cape Town confirmed its participation in AEGON Copa Amsterdam. The tournament is not new to the club from South Africa, last year the team finished fourth, after Cruzeiro, Botafogo and AFC Ajax.
In 2007 Ajax Cape Town made its debut at the prestigious tournament. The team finished third, only Werder Bremen and Ajax performed better during the tournament. Also in 2008, the Urban Warriors took place in the tournament. That year, they finished sixth.
This year, Ajax Cape Town aims to win the Copa. During the weekend of May 18-20 (Pentecost), the South African talents will play in Group A against Ajax, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Chelsea Ghana.
